An evocative and beautiful film, 2046 follows the affairs of an out-of-work journalist and pulp fiction writer, Chow Mo Wan (Tony Leung), who searches for love with a series of beautiful women after an unfulfilled affair leaves him heart-broken. Through passionate moments with a beautiful call girl (Zhang ZiYi), his landlord's daughter (Faye Wong) and a professional gambler (Gong Li), he seeks a cure for his solace, but finds his exploratons of love diverted into his science-fiction novel about a hi-tech train that transports people to the year 2046 to reclaim their lost memories.
