After spending the night among the beautiful and historic ruins of the Basque town of Hondarribia, you won’t want to miss the Michelin-starred restaurant Etxebarri, where head chef Bittor Arguinzoniz is famed for his mastery of the barbecue, and cooks absolutely everything over burning wood. Once you’ve had your fill, you can take a trip to the exceptionally well-preserved historic town of Sos del Rey Católico, with its city walls, churches and plazas dating back to the 12th century.
